Orange Molasses
Orange Molasses
I always somehow end up painting oranges, it’s as if I grew up in Florida and saw them everywhere. They’re embedded into my brain at this point. I had a lot of creating texture for this orange peel, it was my first time attempting texture on a painting with acrylic. The colors behind the orange peel is the colorful “molasses” - molasses apparently protects against heart disease, cancer, and other chronic conditions. Who’s to say this painting won’t do the same? I’m kidding!!! The reason it’s molasses is because the back ground is supposed to represent thick, sticky, color.
Oranges are like home for me - home can bring a lot of thick stickiness as well.
